The normalization agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, officially the Abraham Peace Agreement: Peace Treaty, Diplomatic Relations and Complete Normalization between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel, was initially agreed in a joint declaration of the United States, Israel and the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates) on August 13, 2020, officially called the Abraham Agreement.  The United Arab Emirates was the third Arab country after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994 to agree to formally normalize relations with Israel, as well as the first Country in the Persian Gulf to do so.   At the same time, Israel has agreed to suspend plans to annex parts of the West Bank.   The agreement has normalized informal but robust external relations between the two countries for a long time.   The agreement was signed at the White House on September 15, 2020.  It was unanimously approved by the Israeli cabinet on 12 October and ratified by the Knesset on 15 October.  The United Arab Emirates Parliament and Cabinet ratified the agreement on 19 October. The Greek Foreign Ministry congratulated the two nations and called it a victory for diplomacy in the hope that it had brought peace to the region.  Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Zelensky made a phone call to Netanyahu.  Other nations, such as Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania and Kosovo, also welcomed the agreement.    The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry spoke of an “extraordinary diplomatic breakthrough” that could change the future of the Middle East in the hope that it would bring peace and improve the lives of the people of the Middle East, and congratulated both countries.
 Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz discussed the agreement with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan by telephone and congratulated him and said cooperation was needed to resolve the Middle East`s problems. He also welcomed the suspension of Israeli annexation plans and hoped that the Israeli-Palestinian dialogue would resume.  Costa Rica has declared that this is a historic step that helps peace and has the effect of illuminating the region`s problems. Foreign Minister Rodolfo Solano Quiros said he welcomed the news, as the two nations were their allies, and that he was trying to continue working with them.  The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the agreement and added that it was the first step towards peace and stability.  Brazil made similar comments.  The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the agreement and said that the history and people of the Middle East would not forgive and would not forget what the United Arab Emirates was doing and that it was a violation of the 2002 Arab peace initiative. She called the uae`s behavior hypocritical and added that the Palestinians opposed the agreement.
 President Recep Tayyip Erdogan then said that Turkey was considering suspending or severing diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates in retaliation and recalling its ambassador from Abu Dhabi.  Since 1996, Doha has been open to the fact that it does not see the maintenance of relations with Israel as a single problem.
